Goodwin Proctor is one of the top law firms in the world. And members of this elite firm came from all over the world to be in attendance of their annual post holiday – holiday gala here in Boston. As it is commonly done we played super quiet during dinner, took breaks when speeches happened and rocked the house after dessert.

Mac, the groom, was picky! He wanted a kill’n band and a kill’n party. And for good reason – he knew his friends and family loved to have a great time, party and dance. Right after Mr and Mrs Jennifer and Mac Hill were introduced into the ballroom they headed straight to the dance floor for their first dance. they chose “I’ll Back You Up” by Dave Matthews and Randy sang his butt off on that tune. When I met with them they immediately asked if we were doing “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga and “Empire State of Mind” by Jay Z. Fortunately we’d been doing those tunes for weeks but it told me they wanted a lot of current music which led to a conversation about the demographics of the guests that would be in attendance. Jennifer wanted classics – she wanted to make sure everyone would be pleased by the music. And they also wanted some Sinatra style music while their guests were enjoying their dinners. 12/2/10 Biltmore Hotel Wedding, Providence RI

Diana & Keith Herman wanted a reception that felt like there was very little downtime. They had been to weddings in the past where they thought dinner had drug on too long before the party should have gotten started The way we worked around that was to do less formalities in the beginning and spread them out throughout dinner so the night felt like it was always in forward motion. After their first dance the maid of honor and best man gave their toasts and then first course was served right away. After the second course Diana’s Dad came up and gave a welcome. At the end of his speech he invited Diana’s mother to join him so then Diana could present her bouquet to her. After that the bride took her Dad’s hand and led him to the middle of the dance floor for their special Father daughter dance. Which was them followed the groom’s dance with his mother. Entrees were served immediately after that. At the end of dinner the bride and groom cut their cake while we played background music of How Sweet it Is’ by James Taylor. From there it was dancing until the wee hours. Sorry no pics – camera still on the fritz

12/31/2009 Seaport Hotel NYE Wedding

I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed working with Jamie Crawford and Mike Amaral – now known as the new Mr and Mrs Mike Amaral! They had attended the McCourt Foundation Fundraiser we played last May at the Boston Harbor Hotel. When I sat down with them to go through their wedding details Mike said “all we want is that same party”. We want all our friends and family on the dance floor with us – all night! I said cool -I know exactly what to do to make that happen. The night started with us playing a jazz trio from 7 to 8:30 for their cocktail hour in the Plaza Ballroom’s foyer area. Ballroom doors opened at 8:30 and it was nothing but a party til the end of the night. I think the pictures speak for themselves. This is our third year to be honored doing the Children’s Hospital Radiology Departments Holiday party. It’s an event for around four hundred people in the grand ballroom. We love doing this party each year and working with Jane who organizes this event perfectly. These folks love to dance! When we take a break I put on some Salsa and Merengue music and the show really starts. Sorry no pics – having camera issues

Fortunately for us we were at the Moakley Federal Courthouse AFTER HOURS to help American Tower Corporation end the year right. They had another successful – great year. The company showed folks their appreciation for all the hard work they did by throwing them an amazing blow out!

I think this was the eighth year we’ve been invited to be part of the Darling Consulting Group’s holiday party. Always a blast to play for these folks! Some info about the photos: That’s George Darling, the founder of the company, with Santa figuring out this year’s strategy for present giving. People new to the company get a very mild hazing by being blind folded and searching for presents on the floor. And then the party begins!!!

This is the fifth year we’ve been honored to perform at the Westin Fire Fighter’s Annual Fundraising Ball. We always have so much fun at these. They truly always make us feel like family. Thanks again guys.

Okay, so you know when you have a couple that both work for Budweiser you might have a party on your hands!!!! Whew!…. and what a party it was. Nicky and Gianni Urso had their wedding at the Westin Waterfront not only because it’s such a cool, hip and contemporary setting but also because it could hold all their guests. We’re talking BIG wedding. The bride and groom’s vision was to have tons of dancing at the very beginning, in between courses AND a huge blowout at the end. Mission Accomplished!
